What to pack to a tropical destination (using one carry-on suitcase)

I managed to pack for a 2 week holiday in Tulum and Cuba using just ¾ of my carry on. Say whaaat? Yes, it is possible to go minimalistic and still rock those #OOTD photos. I thought about hitting ASOS and buying whole new outfits for this holiday but I realized I’d rather get creative with my existing summer staples and save space for souvenirs – and I’m so glad I did! If you’re heading to a beach destination soon…

Things to do in Valladolid (Mexico)

Today I’m taking you guys to the next leg of our Mexico trip (if you haven’t checked out my Tulum guide, you can find it here). After 4 days in Tulum, we took the local bus towards Valladolid and I have to say this town was such a beautiful surprise. We only decided to make a stopover here for 2 nights as it was a good middle point between Tulum and Chitchen Itza. We had very low expectations as this town…

Tulum (and Mexico in general) has the most quirky & artsy items and it inspires you to inject some colour into your life. With a hectic travel schedule ahead of us, I was not able to purchase as much as I would have loved to, but if you’re lucky enough to have extra space in your suitcase (and your home), consider buying some of these beautiful souvenirs! Best beach spots in Tulum

Hope my Tulum Travel Guide inspired you to consider it as your next destination! Tulum in itself it’s the ultimate beach paradise and thus it’s not hard to find gorgeous places to take a dip and spend some quality #beachbum time. However, the beach trip is really long and you will probably not be able to see it all, so I decided to dedicate a little post to share my top 5 favorite spots in Tulum. As mentioned on that…

Tulum on a budget

Tulum has been on my bucket list for a few years now. Since we live in Hong Kong, it always seemed like a far dream to visit Mexico as it is more reasonable to explore Asia or Africa destinations from here. However, at the beginning of the year I had a YOLO moment of if not now when?. Luckily, my husband was on board with the idea so we planned a 2 week holiday in Mexico (first Tulum, a quick stop in Cancun, and then Valladolid) followed by a short trip to Cuba (photo diary from Havana coming soon!).

Below are some my favourite spots in Quarry Bay. Whether you go on your own, on a date, or with friends, you’ll have fun…

A Photowalk in Haji Lane (Singapore)

Greetings from Singapore! I’m back in this beautiful city for a short solo business trip. My hotel is in the heart of Kampong Glam, an area that has become a hipster hangout full of little cafes and boutiques. Every morning before heading to the office, I decided to go on random photowalks with my DSLR – it is a form of meditation for me and it forces me to pay attention to the little details. There’s so much beauty around us, if only…

After many years on my wish list, I finally got a chance to visit Chiang Mai. We did not plan much except one day trip to the famous Sticky Waterfalls. See Sticky Waterfalls – This was one of the coolest experiences of the trip. We hired a driver to take us to Bua Tong, which is…
