New York has been on my bucket list for years so when we finally booked a trip in May, I was beyond excited to see and feel the energy of this city.
We were lucky to stay in East Village, which is one of the most up-and-coming gourmet destinations in Manhattan. Seeing so many options around us, we felt inspired to try as many restaurants as possible. With that in mind, we gathered recommendations from friends, travel blogs and our local AirBnb host and embarked on a NYC gourmet journey. We tried 20+ places over the course of a week – here are my personal favorites!
Best avocado toast I had in NYC! Amazing coffee and good vibes. Good place for using your laptop.
130 Franklin St, Tribeca
NUM PANG KITCHEN
Casual joint serving Cambodian baguette sandwiches and rice bowls. By the way, we spotted Chelsea Clinton having lunch with a friend here!
1129 Broadway (near Madison Square Park)
Delicious and nourishing salads. Perfect option to give your stomach a break in between heavy meals.
Our friend raved about this place and he was totally right. The pizzas were incredible. Be aware that due to its popularity waiting time tends to be 1 hour but you can order drinks and starters at the bar while you wait.
261 Moore St, Brooklyn
A small and minimalist cafe perfect for grabbing coffee on the go. The baristas are friendly and quick. Don’t expect breakfast food here, just good coffee.
394 Broome St, Little Italy
There you have it, my top 5 fave NYC food/drink spots that I believe are worth the hype.
