Greetings from Hong Kong!
We are currently back in this amazing city for a week as we prepare to leave the country for good (For those who are new to my blog, I lived in Hong Kong for 3 years before we started to travel full time from January this year).
In between all the admin errands and catch-ups with friends, I took the opportunity to revisit my all time favorite cafes. After a long haul flight from San Francisco and our overwhelming to-do list waiting for me, I needed a lot of coffee!
The coffee shops I’m sharing with you today have a few things in common: they have good vibes, they are totally instagrammable and of course serve quality coffee. And they’ve been around for years, which means a lot in a crowded and competitive city like Hong Kong.
Elephant Grounds
Elephant Grounds opened around the time I moved to Hong Kong and in the past 3 years has been opening several outlets around the city. Their branding is super cute and I love that they serve coffee in big mugs.
8 Wing Fung St, Wanchai (+ other locations)
The Cupping Room
The Cupping Room has a couple of locations but the one is Wanchai is my favorite. It is quite small but full of personality. This is my go-to cafe whenever I feel like having a strong cup of joe.
32 Swatow St, Wan Chai (+ other locations)
Passion by Gerard Dubois
Loved by Hong Kong locals, this is probably the most popular Western-style bakery in Hong Kong. Their pastries are incredible! They also serve sandwiches, hot dishes and salads, making it a perfect stop when you want coffee + a snack.
200 Lee Tung St, Wan Chai
Winstons Coffee
Mind you, this cafe is very small! But on weekends, it’s full of locals and expats alike getting their caffeine fix. The owners are Australian and the coffee as delicious as you’d expect it to be. Perfect for grabbing a cup on the go.
Shop 4, 213 Queen’s Road West, Sai Ying Pun

Polygon Cafe
This is one my favorite cafes to go on my own and do some work on my laptop or read a book. Make sure you check out the beautiful patio at the back!
G/F 14 Second Street, Sai Ying Pun

Jouer Hong Kong
This is one of Wanchai’s hidden gems! A bit hard to find, but worth the effort. This place serves coffee and tea in the cutest cups and the decor is absolutely stunning.
The Coffee Academics (Wanchai)
The Coffee Academics is a perfect spot to hang out and have long conversations with a friend. They usually have plenty of seats and the quality of the coffee/food is very consistent.
