Asia DESTINATIONS Singapore

A weekend in Singapore

Greetings from Singapore!

This was a totally impromptu trip. My husband confirmed a business trip and I thought it’d be fun to join him for a few days. We’re staying at the Westin, which is a lovely hotel  located in the heart of the central business district.

Last time I was here I took you on a walk around Tiong Bahru and Haji Lane, two of my favorite neighbourhoods. This time, the focus was pretty much on eating good food, the occasional swimming pool time and lots of chillaxing!

Here’s some favourites from this trip:

Chye Seng Huat Hardware

This cafe is worth the trip to Jalan Besar. It is not just another hipster hangout – they take coffee brewing seriously and it shows! The latte was delicious and the French toast totally scrumptious (ice cream on the side for breakfast, yes why not!).

P.S. Cafe at One Fullerton

If you’ve been to Singapore before, you probably heard of P.S. Cafe. It’s one of Singapore most famous cafe chains, famous for its lovely ambience. The newest addition at One Fullerton doesn’t disappoint, it has a tropical and airy vibe with stunning views of the Marina Bay.

Swaadhisht

Every time we visit Singapore, we come to Swaadhisht to indulge in authentic Keralan food. For just $8.5 SGD, you can get a wonderful south Indian thali (meal made up of a selection of various dishes). Finish up your meal with masala tea and you will feel full and satisfied for the rest of the day!

We also had a great time at Argentinian restaurant BoCHINche and Spanish tapas joint Binomio.
